Key Terms We Use
It sounds confusing, but its not, really!
What’s a disciple-maker?
Jesus’ word for this was “disciple”, but some Biblical aspects of discipleship are not as obvious in our world as they are in the New Testament.
The core of being a disciple is to:
BE in the context of our community
LISTEN to God and the things He is saying and Has said by His Word and through His Spirit
TRUST God’s goodness and authority
OBEY what He has commanded and is commanding us to do
HELP others to do the same in the context of their communities (this is the “disciple-maker” bit!)
Are you an effective disciple?
It’s not always easy, but neither is it complicated!
What’s a Champion?
Champions are people with a God-given burden for the brokenness and/or lostness of a particular group of people, or ‘affinity’, within their city.
A Champion can’t help but take action as God invites them to practically bring His love into that affinity.
A Champion’s vision is too big for them to fulfil by themselves. They will raise the flag and rally others to meet the needs they see.
A Champion connects, serves the felt needs of the group, and serves any spiritual hunger they encounter.
A Champion hungers for the fullness of God’s love and goodness to saturate the affinity He has placed on their heart.
Does this sound like you? We’d love to connect!
What’s a Catalyst?
A Catalyst is a Champion who has a burden for a larger group - perhaps an industry, or a city, or a geographic area with multiple affinities.
In addition to the challenges facing a Champion, a Catalyst has to wrestle with complexity and scale.
